Shipping Policy
How fees are split between sender and receiver, when each fee is due, and the rules that govern stage-by-stage progression of your shipment.
Sender responsibilities
The sender is responsible for the shipping fee only, which must be paid upfront at the time of booking, before the shipment is accepted into the VeloEx network. No package is collected, processed, or dispatched until the shipping fee clears in our system.
Receiver responsibilities
The receiver is responsible for three separate fees, invoiced at the point each is incurred:
- 1
Insurance & brokerage fee
Must be paid before the shipment departs the origin country. The invoice is issued automatically when the shipment reaches Warehouse Intake.
- 2
Import duty
Invoiced automatically when the shipment arrives at US Import Customs Clearance. Amount is set by US customs and entered by our team.
- 3
Storage fee — $10 per day
Applied for every day a required payment is delayed beyond the 48-hour deadline on the invoice. Storage fees accrue until the outstanding payment is cleared.
Stage progression rule
No shipment will move to the next stage until the required payment for that stage is confirmed. Tracking will show the shipment as "Awaiting payment" and the next milestone will remain locked.
Non-refundable fees
All fees are non-refundable once the shipment has been processed. This includes the upfront shipping fee, insurance & brokerage, import duties, and any accrued storage charges.
Payment deadlines
Every invoice issued by VeloEx carries a 48-hour payment deadline. Deadlines and accepted payment methods (card, bank transfer, Bitcoin, Apple Pay where enabled) are printed on every invoice and confirmed by email and live chat.
